Rester reconnaissant = ‘stay grateful’ in French.
The kindest thing ever was when I was wet and cold on my travels in France. A French guy called Daniel took me to his house, fed me and let me stay overnight.
We became good friends. I visited him several times, but sadly he died in 2016.
I will always be grateful in to him.
