Who are the zombies? Just the people who commit acts of mindless violence?
Or is it also when we watch the news as if it’s just another form of entertainment?
“If the violence causes silence, then we are mistaken.”
But what can we do about Gaza?
What can we do about Ukraine?
What can we do about Iran?
Surely inaction is not an option? Surely, positive action is what is needed?
We may not be able to stop every war, but we can refuse to let suffering become normal to us. We can pray, speak truth with compassion, help where we can, and never lose our humanity while others are hurting.
