So, here are the reasons I cannot erect a shed…
- The land is communal.
- The freeholder (housing association) doesn’t allow it.
- The local council planning department doesn’t allow it.
So, in the spirit of the ‘law of attraction’, I have thought about visualising what I want to manifest it. It is possible. But not where we are. The only way to do it would be to move house. And at my stage in life, I don’t think it is worth the cost and inconvenience of moving for the sake of a shed. Since we decided to stay where we are, I’ve found it somewhat liberating.
So, the shed is off. I’m thinking about how in Buddhism, it’s unfulfilled desire that causes suffering. Well, I’m renouncing suffering for the sake of one unfulfilled ambition. Instead, I’m counting my blessings, of which there are many. It’s good to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
We left the old shed (see photo), at our previous accommodation, to the new tenant. I guess that was a blessing for her.
