Working with people

How has technology changed your job?

For a long time, I worked as an IT technician. But a better job description would have been “support worker.” My approach was person-centred. It wasn’t really about faulty machines that needed fixing. It was about people who needed help. I couldn’t help but feel compassion for my customers, technology can be so very frustrating. I’m a bit of a geek myself and love a challenge, so was happy to help.

Photo is of our new cooker, which arrived today… a fine bit of German engineering. Guaranteed for two years and then insured against failure, for peace of mind.

I love the color of your new cooker. Looks fancy and efficient. It’s about the people not for the machine–a good way, for me.

Thanks, Hazel. 🙏🏼 I’m excited about working with the new cooker. It’s much superior to our old one. I’ve been cooking since I was nine – so that’s 59 years – and cooking never gets boring for me. I love everything from pealing the veggies to watching the dishes by hand. 😊

I believe that person focused approach can apply to all manner of employments. Indeed, I see instances of it all the time, which is pretty heartwarming. 😍

I’m glad to hear you’re feeling a bit more chipper after your nap. 👍🏻 Your package from us cleared Philippines’ customs yesterday. And here, the Byrne book arrived, and is on our shortlist for being read.. 👌🏻

Have a blessed Thursday, Hazel. Here are some little flowers… 🌺🌸🌷🌹🌻💐

Oh, I’ll try to track later, too. Thank you so much for the flowers, Little. You’re gentle and kind. Enjoy the Byrne’s book. It’s life-changing for me. Hugs and blessings to you and Yvonne. And keep cooking and share it here.🤩 I’ll cook viand too coz I feel hungry now.🤭
